“Mikasa, there you are! Jesus, I’ve been looking all over for you. Were you just in the quad this whole time?” you shout as you bound over to the girl. There are some snickers from other students watching your antics, but you just ignore them.
“I told you I’d be here studying, [y/n],” she reminds you. “You need to pay attention more.”
“Sure, sure,” you wave off her statement before continuing, “Anyways, I was wondering if you wanted to hang out and go to the mall or something?”
She sighs. “I also told you I’m going to the movies with Eren today. You can come if you want.”
You know what they say, speak of the devil and he shall come.
“What’d you just say, Mikasa? That she-demon is not crashing in on our plans.”
“Tch, like I would want to hang out with anger-management, anyway.”
“Psycho.”
“Momma’s boy.”
“Stop!” Mikasa interrupts, slamming her textbook closed and standing up. “You two need to chill out. We’re all going to the movies together and you aren’t going to fight even once.”
“Fine,” Eren grumbles.
“I wouldn’t fight him if he wasn’t such a limp noodle all the time,” you mutter, trailing behind the dark haired girl as she walks away.
“[y/n],” she growls, warning you to shut up. You do.

“Well, no one killed anyone else, so that’s good, right?” you say cheerfully as you all walk into the theater.
“I would’ve killed you if Mikasa wasn’t there.”
“Please, you couldn’t even land a single punch before she pulled you away from me.”
“Oh my god, you are both idiots. And you made us late! I’ll buy the tickets if you,” she points to Eren, “find seats and you,” cue you, “get popcorn.”

“Ooh, thanks for finding the sweet seats, Jaeger,” you whisper when the boy points out the three in the back row after you meet up again. “Here, you have the popcorn first as a reward.” He just scowls and takes the bag. Despite the fact that you managed to civilly thank the brunette - not even sarcastically - Mikasa insists that she should sit in between the two of you. Apparently she’s worried that you’ll “use the dark to your advantage” and “mask the sounds of murdering each other” with the gore in the movie. Whatever, you still get to sit next to her.
You’re blushing like a schoolgirl by the time the horror flick starts; even Eren’s presence won’t stop you from commencing with the fool-proof plan you’ve devised to woo your scarf-wearing crush.
It doesn’t take you long to muster the courage to go through with it; right after the first jumpscare, you reach over to her hand where it rests on her lap, and lace your fingers with hers.
She glances over at you and whispers, “Scared?” You shake your head and smile.
“Not a bit.”
She doesn’t pull her hand away and Eren hasn’t even noticed yet; you let out a sigh of relief. Her hand is warm and soft and you find your usually hectic self calming down as an effect.
But really, it’s not enough.
“Mikasa?”
“Hmm?” she hums, not looking away from the screen. You release her hand only to angle her face towards you with your forefinger.
Her eyes widen as you lean in and breathe, “Is it okay if I kiss you?” Her slight nod is enough to slap a grin onto your face before she closes the gap between you, her lips pressing against yours hard and urgent.
Eren’s shriek of disgust hardly reaches your ears, but you do laugh lightly at his exclamation of, “What the everloving fuck are you doing to my sister, you potato? Stop!” as he throws popcorn at you in an attempt to divert your attention or whatever.
“This is one time when you don’t have to listen; don’t stop,” Mikasa mumbles against your lips, dark eyes twinkling merrily as her brother gets shushed. You’ve never been been more happy to follow a command.
