Who knows how long later, your [e/c] eyes snap open. The first thing you see is the moon through an open skylight. The second, a roaring fire. The third, is Jack.
He doesn't notice you're awake though. His head is in his hands, silvery-white hair poking out between his fingers. Your fingers and head are throbbing along with the beating of your heart, but you don't care.
"Jack!" You exclaim, successfully getting his attention. He raises his head, practically disbelieving at first, then when he sees you sitting up with your eyes open, a smile slowly makes an entrance onto his face. The teenage boy rushes over, sweeping you into his arms as you sob, "Jack, I thought that I would never see you again! I thought that I would become like him!" You bury your face into his chest as his hand graces your lower back that trembles from your crying.
"Shh, shh, it's okay. You see me now, I'm here now… You're too strong, too good, to ever become like Pitch. It's alright now," he whispers onto the top of your head. He pulls you away just a bit, wiping your tears away with his thumb. You look up at him, your [e/c] eyes meeting his icy pools. Acting on impulse, you slowly lift your hands up, twisting your fingers through his silvery, feather-soft locks. Hesitantly, he leans down, one hand resting on the nape of your neck. Pausing right before you meet, you watch your breaths puff out in little white clouds, and then his cold lips meet yours, his eyes sliding closed before he slowly pulls away again.
"That can't be allowed…" An Australian accent whispers behind you, breaking you out of your frantic, happy thoughts.

Everlasting Snow: Chapter 48
Oh, how you’ve missed flying.
Feeling completely weightless as the wind envelops you, pushing you up and forward. Your hair whipping back, dancing in the wind. Your hand clasped in Jack’s, the odd yet wonderful cold backed by that deep, inner warmth spreading down your arm and through you as your cheeks and nose turn pink from the blasts of air as you travel at an incredible speed. The scenery blurred as it you race over it, treetops and roofs of houses uniting into flashes of uniform color, what few people there are looking like nothing but brief, tiny blips in radar.
You close your eyes for a bit, thoroughly enjoying the sensa

Everlasting Snow: Chapter 23
“In the pale echo of light, vague outlines moved through Bertie’s field of vision, but their details were lost to the dark. Her bedroom walls took flight in a soaring arc before…”
You trail off, holding your place on the page.
He’s not awake anymore.
His breathing has slowed significantly, his arms limp and his heartbeat now a slow, steadily-beating drum.
What’s more is that he has stopped interrupting you to ask a question or make a snide comment every few lines of the story.
After sharing in that kiss, you had thrown away the wrapping paper—all except the stuff that covered Jack’s—

“JACK!”
You abruptly sit up in your bed, gasping for air.
Beads of cold sweat dot your forehead, dampening the roots and tips of your hair.
Your hand shaking vigorously, you switch on the light to chase away the dancing shadows of darkness. You take a quick survey of your room, searching for anything that is out of place.
All seems well.
You bring your knees up to your chest, hugging your legs as you attempt to stop trembling. You take long, deep breaths, closing your eyes in
